The Sicilian

Perched above the waterfront in Forster, The Sicilian is a celebration of nostalgic Italian hospitality reimagined through a distinctly coastal lens. Designed by Five Foot One Design, the space draws on the romance and intrigue of 1940s Italian cinema — refined, eclectic, and layered with a warmth that feels at once timeless and transportive.

Drawing cues from vintage Italian hotel balconies and seaside eateries, this space blurs the line between interior and exterior, inviting guests to linger in a setting reminiscent of a European summer along the Mediterranean coast.

The building’s façade has been reimagined as a traditional Sicilian streetscape, featuring a textured, rough-plastered finish and ornate metal balustrades that encourage guests to pause and take in the view.

Supplied by Olde English Tiles, the vintage mosaic motif for the shopfront enhances the layered, aged aesthetic, evoking the charm of a historic Italian village, grounding the venue in authenticity and storytelling.
