A bit of magic in Newtown

"It's like something out of a Harry Potter movie", is how someone described it on seeing the interior of Sydney University's St Andrew's College, the Scottish Baronial style sandstone edifice completed in 1878.
As part of a substantial renovation - restoration of the college's Main Building, Olde English Tiles was engaged to produce tiles for 40 period fireplaces. The brief specified that the tiles had to exactly replicate the glaze colour, including the tone variations, of the original tiles. After numerous experiments with bisques & glaze combined with kiln firing, we were able to achieve the desired result and meet the restoration architect's requirements.
